Romanian company wins 66.7 million dollar contract in Iraq

 

The Romanian company Delta ACM won a contract in Iraq for a 20.6 km long section of Erbil-Koya highway. The value of the contract is 66.7 million dollars, says Florea Diaconu, the owner and president of Delta."The works will be in Iraq, Kurdistan area and the contract was signed on 21 February", Diaconu added, quoted by Mediafax.Ten other companies participated in the tender next to Delta and included another Romanian company, 8 Turkish firms and a Turkish-Iranian company.

 

Works carried out by Delta will begin on 4 April and will last 2 years. According to Florea Diaconu, the highway will be 58.3 km long.Delta ACM had in 2010 a business figure of 91 million euro, 18 million euro more than in 2009.“For this year we estimate a business figure of 115 million euro. The rise will represent mainly works carried out abroad,” Diaconu said.The company, set up in 1993 is specialized in building and repairing roads, especially in Bucharest and the modernization of county and national roads.
